Rough Rock Chapter

Ya'at'eeh! The Rough Rock Chapter holds two meetings a month; a regular meeting in which time the community discuss its need with Chapter Officials; and a planning meeting at which time, residents and Chapter Officials lay plans for the next regular Chapter meeting.

Rough Rock Chapter is located at the base of Black Mesa Female Mountain). Also, the Chapter is at the same location as the Rough Rock Community School, formerly Rough Rock Demonstration School(RRDS). The Rough Rock community's philosophy is local control and local governance. In 1966, the community first established a community controlled school in United States. Today, there are over 170 contract/grant schools patterned after RRDS.
